MBC Practice Test is a free, independent study resource for people preparing for medical billing and coding certification exams — the AAPC CPC first among them, along with CCS and similar credentials.
What you get here
A 50-question practice test covering ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, medical terminology and anatomy, compliance and HIPAA, and billing and reimbursement. Every question shows you the correct answer and a short explanation of the governing rule the moment you answer — because the explanation, not the score, is what earns you marks on exam day.
How the questions are made
All questions are original — written for this site, not copied from real exams or other prep providers. Each one is checked against primary sources: the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, the AMA CPT code set, and CMS/HHS rules for reimbursement and HIPAA topics. When official guidelines change, we re-verify and update.
